Materials and Weight Specifications
The current design of the hammock stand incorporates a combination of high-quality materials, including aluminum, ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), and carbon fiber. These materials were carefully selected to balance durability and lightweight performance. The stand’s initial weight, without connectors, is 5 lbs. Our target for the completed weight is around 7 lbs, ensuring it remains easy for backpacking enthusiasts to carry.
Testing and Modular Design
Our first test configuration will feature hammock anchor points approximately 4 feet high. This height is strategically chosen to keep users suspended just above the ground, optimizing comfort while minimizing packing weight. The distance between hang points is set at 12 feet, a dimension designed to provide ample space for a comfortable hammock experience.
The hammock stand is being developed as a modular system, offering flexibility and adaptability to meet various user needs. This modular approach allows for additional height and variable distances between tie points, catering to different environments and user preferences.
